Happy National Doughnut Day!

Today is National Doughnut Day in the US!
This yummy delish celebration was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to raise much-needed funds during the Great Depression and to honor the work of World War I Salvation Army volunteers who prepared doughnuts for thousands of soldiers.
National Doughnut Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June.
To mark the occasion, Krispy Kreme gave its customers a free doughnut of their choice.
No. You do-nut have to ask where we went today..

This post gave me donut cravings. So I went to Spinelli upstairs and got myself a...lemon and raisin cupcake. Which I fell on like a flock of vultures. Which was very good.
